Building Services Consultants is a consulting practice started, back in 1992, under the sole proprietorship of Eng. Tissa Gunasena. Originally, the work covered was confined to electrical, water supply & drainage, air conditioning & ventilation and fire protection & detection but, with the return of their Principle Partner, Eng Tissa Gunasena in January, 2000, after a successful stay in the UK, the Company has ventured into new areas such as, acoustics and energy management. The Company is also engaged in ‘Thermal Modelling’ of buildings in collaboration with the Integrated Environmental Solutions Ltd, in the UK. The Company is proud to be involved in some prestigious projects in the past, including the Parliament Building in the Republic of Maldives and ‘Hotel Tropical Villas’, which has been listed in many journals, having won many awards on the way, the most recent being the Low Energy Intensity Design Award’ at the CEB annual awards ceremony,
in 2000.
